South West of England
When you think South West England you no doubt flash images of the Cotswolds and Stonehenge. These two British landmarks can’t be missed on a trip to, or within, the UK. Stonehenge is of course the prehistoric monument and world wonder located in the English county of Wiltshire. Archaeologists believe it was built in 2500 BC making it one of the world’s oldest landmarks and a sight that must be seen. The Cotswolds are another wonder but of nature rather than humanity. The Cotswolds are formally known as the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with good reason. Few areas in the world are more pristine or have more log cabin break destinations than the South West of England.
Water Sports & Activities
For water lovers the beaches of South West England are also immaculate. Bournemouth in particular boasts seven miles of safe, gently shelving golden sands; the wide beaches of Bournemouth have long been a magnet for families. Other things to do in Bournemouth include features such as the Bournemouth Air Festival as well as regular activities such as Adventure Wonderland and the Liberty`s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre.
The Cornwall District
Cornwall is another favourite of water lovers and families too. Cliffs, sandy beaches and Mooreland’s make the geography of the Cornwall area an exciting place to swim, boat, participate in water sports or collect fossils. Historically a mining area the main industry has shifted toward tourism. In fact the south coast has been dubbed the “Cornish Riviera.” Also on the south coast, the picturesque fishing village of Polperro, at the mouth of the Pol River and the fishing port of Looe on the River Looe are both popular tourist destinations. Because of this popularity log cabins abound in the Cornwall, South West of England region with some of the most highly recommended luxury log cabins as well as log cabin homes in all of the United Kingdom.
