The Northern Highlands covers the areas of Aberdeenshire, Banffshire, Inverness-Shire, Kincardineshire, Morayshire, Ross-Shire and Sutherland. All of these places have something different to offer. You can visit them all because this part of Scotland is easy to get around, with roads coming from the central area of Inverness. There are many log cabins throughout the Northern Highlands. The two areas with the best log cabins are Inverness-Shire and Ross-shire. Inverness-Shire has the Ancraig Lodges in Bunloit, the Great Glen Water Park in Kinlochlochy, Lochy Park in Camaghael, Fort William and Kiltarity Lodges in Beauly. The Ancharraig Lodges offer a peaceful and tranquil location on the Great Glen Way, upon the hills close to Loch Ness. They are set in 90 acres of private parkland enabling you to really relax and feel like you are far away from it all.

Close by, is the famous Loch Ness. The Loch itself offers a wide variety of water sports including cruising and fishing trips. On top of this visitors to this area of Scotland can enjoy numerous activities throughout the year, some of which are horse riding, woodland walks and mountain biking. The activities on offer at the Great Glen Water Park make it popular with people wanting an active log cabin holiday. The facilities at the park include a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, plus salmon and trout fishing. In addition to these there is a licensed activity centre which means that the park is open all year round.

The park itself is located on Loch Oich and Loch Lochy which makes for a great setting. There are a number of lodges on the site catering in for up to seven people. The lodges themselves have also been updated and refurbished for 2010

Lochy Park, Camaghael, Fort William, Inverness shire

The Lochy Park Lodges cater for between four and six people. Based near Fort William, Lochy Park has magnificent views of the tallest peak in the UK, Ben Nevis. Sometimes referred to as the outdoor capital of the UK this area of the Northern Highlands boasts beautiful scenery all year round, and therefore activities to suit. Well renowned for its hiking and walking this area also suits cyclists and boating enthusiasts

The Kiltarlity Lodges are located close to Loch Ness and the fastest growing city in Scotland, Inverness. This area provides a perfect base to explore both the Isles of Sky plus the West Coast of Scotland. As well as the famous Loch Ness the area provides beautiful scenery and countryside which is teeming with wildlife.
