Northumberland is in the northeast part of England, bordering the North Sea on the East and Cumbria on the west. Since Northumberland also borders Scotland, the area was once the site of many famous battles between the Scots and the Brits.
There are many things to see and do in this well-known part of England including the famous Hadrian’s Wall that was once walked by soldiers of the Roman Empire as they watched over the northernmost lands of Rome. Long stretches of its 73-mile length are still standing. The 405 acres of Northumberland National Park is something that should not be missed when visiting the area.
