Northumberland lodges

Northumberland

Northumberland is in the northeast part of England, bordering the North Sea on the East and Cumbria on the west. Since Northumberland also borders Scotland, the area was once the site of many famous battles between the Scots and the Brits.

There are many things to see and do in this well-known part of England including the famous Hadrian’s Wall that was once walked by soldiers of the Roman Empire as they watched over the northernmost lands of Rome. Long stretches of its 73-mile length are still standing. The 405 acres of Northumberland National Park is something that should not be missed when visiting the area.

Kielder Water Lodges Kielder Water, Northumberland

If you are planning a log cabin holiday to this beautiful part of England, you couldn’t find a better place than these lodges set on 27 miles of shoreline and surrounded by lush pine forests.

These lodges are on the largest man-made lake in Europe and Kielder Forest is the largest forest in England. Besides exploring the forest for glimpses of wildlife, you can take a side trip to Alnwick Castle, which served as the Hogwart’s School in the Harry Potter films.

The lodges are located near the Leaplish Waterside Park, offering plenty of activities for those who love water sports. The A-frame cottages sleep from 4 to 6 people and are fully equipped for a self-catering holiday. The property has its own restaurant sitting on the lake called the Boat Inn.
